In the dirt where it grew

It's beauty would last a season

But if uprooted,

(the sunflower could reason)

It would last much longer

as it shared its seeds along the journey

Each one impacting the grounds as the sunflowers before thee

Until all the seeds found

their own place on the earth

And the sunflower at last,

returned to the dirt
